1. Who We Are

StudySpell is operated by LevelNex AI. This policy explains what personal information we collect depending on how you use the service, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. What We Collect

What we collect depends on how you use StudySpell:

Guest users (no account)

Nothing is collected or stored. Guest sessions run entirely in your browser and no data is sent to our servers beyond the standard request needed to load the page.

Free and Pro account holders

• Account information: Your name and email address when you create an account.
• Word lists: The spelling words you enter, upload, or import into the app.
• Test results: Scores and per-word results from spelling tests taken through the app.
• Subscription status: Your current plan (Free or Pro) and when it was last updated.
• Usage data: Basic technical information such as browser type and pages visited, used to operate and improve the service.

Pro subscribers (additional)

• Payment information: Your email address is shared with Stripe to process your subscription. We do not store your credit card number, expiry, or CVV — those are handled entirely by Stripe.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the StudySpell service
• Display progress and test history in your dashboard
• Send transactional emails (e.g., account confirmation)
• Process and manage Pro subscription payments via Stripe
• Enforce feature access based on your plan tier
• Improve the application based on usage patterns

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Children's Privacy

StudySpell is designed for use by parents and guardians on behalf of their children. Accounts are created and managed by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Word list and test data entered by a parent on behalf of a child is associated with the parent's account and protected accordingly.

Guest sessions involve no data collection at all and are safe for children to use under a parent's supervision.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at info@levelnex.ai and we will promptly delete it.

5. Data Storage

Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is protected by row-level security policies that ensure each user can only access their own information. Payment data is stored by Stripe, not by us. Guest session data is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you downgrade from Pro to Free, your data remains intact but Pro features become unavailable. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing info@levelnex.ai.

7. Third-Party Services

StudySpell uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Vercel — hosting and deployment
• Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Stripe collects and stores payment card details on our behalf. We share your email address with Stripe to identify your subscription.
• Anthropic Claude API — AI-assisted word extraction (OCR fallback only, for Free and Pro account holders)

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Cancel your Pro subscription at any time

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the app or sending an email.
