Children’s Privacy & COPPA
StudySpell is built for families, and we take children’s privacy seriously. This page summarizes how we handle children’s information, in keeping with the spirit of the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). It complements our Privacy Policy.
Accounts are created and managed by adults
StudySpell accounts are created by a parent, guardian, or teacher who is 18 or older. Children do not create their own accounts. A child practices under an adult-owned account — and, where enabled, through a family link that lets them log in with a simple PIN the adult sets up.
What information we collect about children
We aim to collect only what's needed to run spelling practice. For a child profile, that typically means a first name or display name, an optional grade or age to set the right practice level, and the child's practice activity (their word lists, scores, streaks, and progress).
We do not ask children for contact information, and we don't require more about a child than is necessary to provide the practice experience.
We do not sell children’s data or run targeted ads
We do not sell children's personal information. StudySpell does not show children behavioral or targeted advertising, and we do not use children's information to build advertising profiles.
Parental control and choices
The adult account holder is in control. You can view, edit, and delete your child's profile and practice data from within your account at any time. If you'd like us to delete a child's information, or you have a question about the information associated with your account, email us at info@levelnex.ai and we'll help.
